I thought it might be worth a bit more because its seems like it would be rare. I've looked online and cannot find another coin like this with the same year. Are there collectors who specifically look for coins like these?

SPP-Ottawa, sorry but, when someone bring discredit on persons and on web sites, I think that this is not a good mean to promote this hobby.
I can't imagine that only one person ( expert or not ) can take precedence, and I can't imagine that all others are " in the field ".
I am deeply convinced that the respect for each other is essential to improve our hobby. Nobody is perfect and I beleive that the perfection is not the gratest quality for an human.

Its hard, but not impossible when we think to the % of errors's collectors, in the years 1960.

True... Do you think it would sell for more on ebay, than to a dealer?

First : to a collector Second : on ebay ( November to Mars ) Third : to a dealer. That's my opinion.

SPP-Ottawa,
Following your reference to coinsandcanada.com, I agree with you that the image # 1096 " is not a weak strike.
I see some errors in this list and I wish that this will be rectified as soon as possible.
You can see that the forum of coinsandcanada.com totalize only : - 532 topics and 1202 posts.
If you refer to numicanada.com, this site totalize : - 13,748 topics and 115,179 posts.
This is not an excuse but you can understand that, in the last years, numicanada.com require much more care than coinsandcanada.com
Thank you to inform us for this !

The "Wikipedia effect" is obvious in this thread. Misinformation is accepted as fact. The CCN error columnist is constantly blowing smoke and it is accepted as -fact from an expert- by many collectors. The same is true of above mentioned websites. I do believe that the websites do not do it intentionally, and a quick correction will be made. That however (as SPP points out)is not the case when the "error errorist" is concerned. I will not even comment on Mr. Campbell's book except that I will not even stop at his table at shows. I just cringe when certain publications are used as references. A new publication on Canadian Error coins would be welcomed by some. Myself and a few friends have discussed doing a "Coffee Table Book" of our top 100 errors as has been done in the USA however the cost is prohibitive. I am certain that the Toronto Coin Expo will have a table with some interesting errors to say the least. (If SPP lets me.....) LOL za75, keep up the good work, but please remember that just because it is in print/type, does not make it fact.

You also have to be aware of all these new self appointed so called experts . They scare me more than the older guys that make an occasional mistake . People need to remember it is a hobby for most afterall .

Quote: I just hope to read soon your " print/type " ! If you are a regular subscriber to Canadian Coin News, then I believe you already have... I'll give nickelsguy the option of identifying himself here, but I will say his writing has been in Canadian Coin News off and on for over three years now, and he has won the respect of many veteran Canadian collectors and dealers.
