Cud
An area of a coin struck by a die that has a complete break across part of its surface. A Cud may be either a Retained Cud, where the faulty piece of the die is still in place, or a full Cud, where the piece of the die has fallen away. Retained Cuds usually have dentil detail if on the edge, while full Cuds do not. Cud only happen with the rim. If it's only on the rim it is called a rim Cud and if it goes into the field of the coin it is called a Cud but it always includes the rim.

You seem to have a normal evenly worn quarter there
with maybe a little bit of debris on the die in the area
of pluribus unum.
