I'm an ebayer - buyer only at the moment, and am finding it really good to get modern coins, so far so good with all the sellers I've dealt with. Was a seller a while ago, but am not too rapt in the fees, and paypal issues I used to have with buyers...

There's some silly buyers out there...saw an auction go off for one of the 2006 Comm Games 50c to about $23 or something. Funny thing was, you could get the very same coin somewhere else on ebay as a buy it now for 10.99..

Ok listed 3 things, I wanted to list more but I must have used up my free listings, poop I have to wait for next month.
Anyway all circulate stuff, I am sure no one here would be interested in this, or I would have offered it here first.
Yes it still surprises me that coins I class as boring sell ever time I do a listing. I am mostly clearing out lots of 5 coins that I can't bare to put back into circulation. My pile of coins that I have put aside is actually shrinking -- YAY I have space on my table.

I have an ebay account just for occassional buying, not selling. The fee's a way too much, despite it being probably the highest traffic online site. I'm in the process of trying to sell off some stuff, ebay/paypal takes like 15% from what I calculated, too much I think.. I've been trying quicksales, but despite the name including the word "quick" it's rather the opposite...I'll have to continue to find other avenues I think !

Once you have made enough valuable contributions here, you can post numismatic items in the appropriate area.

Hey BNL,

On my aussie card site they've talked about quicksales and the main problem seem to be it's very young and because of this it's taking some time for people on both sides (buyers and sellers)to trust it..as in no one's wants to put highend stuff up until recently so give it time and with some luck it will grow but like most things here we just don't have the numbers . Ebay=huge population=more money, just cold hard numbers..where's GM with our stats

Hi,

I'm about to start selling notes & coins on ebay... I've been buying & selling other things ebay for years... have bought various coins & notes too....

I've only got good things to say about ebay... you cant expect access to a national or global marketplace without any fees can you ?

My ebay name is different to my name here and I cant see how to add my ebay name to my profile but it is "johnhowardisold".

Some $50 polymer notes should be listed sometime later tonight....

Cheers,
xevious

Ausjack,
Quicksales was renamed from Oztion a while ago, so it has really been around for longer than the name "quicksales".
more info at
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quicksales
Fees are much lower than ebay, so everyone who complains about ebay fees should consider supporting this competitor to ebay.
