RCM just released a 1 kilo silver coin for $ 1300 cdn.Mintage is 2,500 coins worldwide.They intend to release another one in 2008.
Would you buy something like this ?

Yeah, as a pocket piece.

Honestly, if it were in the budget, yes I would. It's a very attractive coin, and how many of my buddies will have one? I'm just surprised that a 100mm coin weighs a full kilo. Guess I'm not used to thinking in those terms.

They also released 20 coins of gold.At $ 36,000 each are sold out.

If I ever win the lottery I'll buy a set of 8 to use as dinner service.

I think a kilo sized piece would be an interesting addition to any collection. I actually just bought a 2 oz Mexican Libertad. I like the fact that it was larger than the 1 oz. I can't wait to get it in the mail.

It would be an interesting "conversation piece."

However, it's hard for me to consider it a "coin," rather than an oddity.
