I happen to stumble across these 1x1" anticorrosion pads that are made by the same company as intercept sheild. IS coin products seem to be readily available is the US (I ordered some IS boxes but the shipping was a killer).

For Australian collectors the IS capsules are designed for US coin sizes. these 1x1" are being sold in 20 by a gemstone equipment supplier in NSW, just search for "Intercept anti-tarnish Tabs" in Google Australia ( I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post links to businesses)

what if we were to place one of these pads inside each 2x2 slot in a folder behind a Saflip or cardboard flat to protect each coin? do you think the pads actually need to touch the coin or just be near it?

works out at 25c s coin.

according to the supplier they don't need to be actually touching the coin.

here is the link. mods Please remove it if I cannot post it here:

according to the literature 1x1" tab will protect 30 cubic inches for 12+ months, if I estimate 2x2"x3mm (thickness of coin + flip) its approx 0.4cu. Cut a 1x1" tab in 4, it should protect the coin for 18yrs?! that doesn't sound right..

about 6c a coin if so.

As a general rule coins in properly closed 2x2 type flip and then placed in a 20 slotted plastic page should be sufficient to protect coins for a long, long time. I've had some like that for well over 20 to 30 years with nothing else and they still look like they did when I put them there.
