When I exchange coin rolls for new ones I usually trade in $10. How much do you use? Does it depend on the coin?

I typically deal between $100 and $200 in mixed coins. A box of pennies, and then $60 in dimes, $40 in nickels, and then the rest in quarters depending on what kind of laundry I am looking at.

But lately I have been dumping my pennies in coin star machines.

I do about $500-$1,500 on average, to save on gas costs.

I'm fairly new to coin roll hunting but made one trip to the bank so far. I traded in slightly over $500.00
**this was mainly half dollars but there was a box of pennies in there too.

I've made rotations.

I usually dump more than $500 at banks that have a coin machine that doesn't bag (takes much longer to fill up) so I don't feel like a jerk.

I dump less than $300 at banks that do have bags to try and reduce the number of bag changes I cause.

Then I rotate. I try not to go to the same banks more than one a week or every two weeks.

And I never s**t where I eat.

Either $250 (box) of dimes or $500 (box)of quarters. Usually only do dimes but I do pick up the occasional box of quarters.
