There used to be a pert mint bullion page come up with what they are selling but site is closed today. From previous charts the ½ oz was selling for $20.48ea plus security delivery for dealers. Retail price which the public pays should be $22ea on a good day. $18ea if fantastic and cheaper than wholesale. Unfortunately I wouldn't need 20 of them. BUT WOW sounds great Bullion mintage for ½ coins at the moment is unlimited and probably has easily exceeded 300,000 It has been very popular with the international market, and they have really squeezed everything they can out of it. The dragon theme has kinda been flogged to death. Have a quick check of silver price; I think it was $13-$14 as scrap value.

Thanks Australian coin, ended up getting 20 of them, my first silver purchase. Fingers crossed they have been to busy stamping out the vast array of other coins and have forgotten about stamping out a few hundred thousand of the 1/2 ounce coins. Being they are on special I highly doubt it though. Anyway, could have done worse I suppose, I really like the liquidity in a half ounce coin. Will be great for when silver hits the moon Lol!

Oh and when you get them post pictures of front and back, there have been a lot of fakes going around, but I can spot them from 10 paces. Are you doing pickup, cos that's a but load of coins to post

I think that in the long run they could give a small profit; on ebay 2011 lunar coins sell for $22 to $30ea. I think it will increase in value after they have stoped minting them.

You probably don't have to worry about fake coins as your buying from a bullion dealer, but on ebay they are shockers. Basically the queen shouldn't be smiling or have a straight line for a chin and the wording is done in the wrong size. http://www.silverlunar.com/2012/03/...vs-real.html

Thanks for the advice AC. Will be doing a pickup although they charge about $40 for freight, starts getting pretty expensive when you add that. Will definately get some more silver if it drops further which may well be on the cards. Almost purchase a heap a few years ago when it was about $15 and ounce, then it went to 17 and thought I would wait a little until it got back to $15, but als it shot up to near $50 from there and has now corrected.

Are there official Perth Mint Dealers in the States or are we on our own?

The fake looks like it might have been copied from a Silver Britannia Coin

Hay, have you been keeping an eye on you investment, just checked the bay and the cheapest one sold I could find was $26 + The Perth bullion site no longer is seeling these so your investment will go up now, the bullion page is now selling 2013 snakes, and the dealer's price is $22.78 - $23.78
