I think I read in strike it rich with pocket change, that there is both 88 with 89, and 89 with 88, but the latter of the two is thought to not truly exist and be considered a RDV.

Mainman....Im getting confused here...lol.."RDV "..does this stand for REVERSE DIE VARIETY? and is my coin just a normal ole coin?I really do need to research some of the varieties.I do know about the CAM's and WAM's.

Ok...I checkt the placement of "FG" on my coin....Now I know what you was talking about...( I THINK).Its at the same place as on any 1989 penny.On an 1988 "FG" is placed a bit closer to the foot of the building.....Am I right?.......hey before to long I be an expert in all this ...lol..:)

Hallo Monika! Yes RDV is reverse design variety. Personally, I've found these 88/89 to be one of the hardest to spot! Google "89 reverse of 88" you'll see that it is posted and spoken about all over this and every other board! Lol. Also check out varietyvista.com that's in my opinion the best site to learn about the reverse designs!
