Hello all!

so, what does everyone do with their culls and junks? Do they go into the bin? Stuffed in a box never to be seen again, or do they get given to charitable causes (I hear theres a collection for them to go to schools)?

The reason I ask is that, as a collector(ish) of ancients with a tight budget, more interested in history and what you can learn by IDing coins, Id like to try and take culls off peoples hands that may never see the light of day again.

They would get a good home, would receive more thorough cleaning and would be more appreciated than if stuffed away until eventually thrown out. Plus, rarer coins would be accessible, even if they are in hideous condition. Id make an effort to ID anything possible, or at least group by age.

Anything truly lost to time would either be used as cleaning practice and testing, a filler for the collection, given on to local classics departments or the time will be taken to sell them at cut price to fund further purchases.

So, thoughts? Where do yours go? Is there a place where you can bulk buy junk coins at dirt cheap prices?

Let's keep all the discussion in one place, then.
