This coin is currently up for auction but I am suspicious of the rating it received. What would you grade it?

Appears to have XF40 details and was weakly struck. It has also been cleaned.
I would value this coin at $75 retail.

EF40 details cleaned. Net value - F15. The surfaces appear to be in ok shape so find a place to set it and forget it to let it recover (re-tone).

The strike did look weak, but 50 is pretty optimistic at that. I would not argue with EF45 Details though, so we're kind of splitting hairs on a problem coin.

I'd have to say EF-45 for dietails, IMHO

The coin sold. The auction is over. I withdrew my bid. I felt I would have to crack the coin from the case (I thought 50 was a stretch) and I did not wish to do that. Thank you for your support as always. I did purchase a similar coin but for less money in better shape, so all was not lost.

No way that is AU50. I guess ANACS let's their graders grade with their eyes closed. It's a shame because My opinion of ANACS was going up. I like the fact that the public can submit tho them, but this is disappointing...
