Back in the early 80's I had access to a metal lathe and had made numerous Cent/Dime & Nickel/Cent pieces that I made for my Daughters (earrings, show pieces, etc.)...
All the Dimes were silver Barbers & Mercs, the Cents were Indian Head & Wheat's and all the Nickels were Buffalo's... All pieces have been highly polished...
Time has erased the memory of how many pieces I made, and all were in different combinations... When I asked my daughters if they still had them, they replied that they had givin them away years ago...

As noted photos are needed. But also, sa noted if the Cent is Copper and the Dime appears Silver, then it's just a magic type coin.

Can't be a Magician's coin if the Wheat cent reverse is too big for the planchet, though!

There are two types of magicians coins. the better type has the larger coin hollowed out on one side and the smaller coin reduced in thickness and fit into the shell of the larger coin. The other cruder type has the diameter of the large coin ground down to match the diameter of the smaller one, then both coins ground down in thickness and the two pieces are then soldered together.

The merc obverse dime is silver and the reverse Wheat penny is copper ... again the penny is "incomplete" because of the size difference

Well, there we have it. The Mint doesn't make bimetallic planchets. Weren't the hollowed out magicians' coins made to accommodate another coin to make it "disappear?"

What I expected from the original post, but I was hoping for better news.
