I will be breaking in my new Garrett Ace 250 for the first time. This will be my maiden voyage into the world of metal detecting. I'm from Ottawa and here is the spot I plan on searching later on this evening.
One of Ottawa;s oldest landmark, the Canadian Parliament Buildings. Hopefully there will be some interesting things waiting to be dug up.

Out-For-My-First-Dig!

Will post findings(if any lol) later.

This looks like a joke, but just in case you are serious- I'll risk looking like a stiff pickle and say-
Don't do it, or you'll end up in trouble with the law.
Rest in Peace

It may not be private property, but it is indeed government property

Guys, back now, there is a bike path that runs through there....geez lol. First ever run was fun, but nothing too great to talk about. 4 quarters, nickel, dime and a penny. Everything else was a broken winch cable, lightbulb base and and a bunch of bottle caps. Son enjoyed the bottle caps, so all in all a good time.

Cant wait for the weekend.

Sure why not. You will probably do better outside and around the fort.
There is nothing left inside of it anyway.
Maybe find a stray gold bar that was dropped when they were loading up the last batch in a truck heading for China. The Feds emptied the fort
and the U.S. still owes over a trillion in just interest to China.
Your Gold and Taxes hard at work.

Imagine digging up a whole bar! It would be too much for me to handle.
