Great news! A coin I thought was a dud turns out to be a good coin - buried under lots of crap.

I tried stripping the patina but what I found was that the outer layer wasnt patina - so its stripping that off and revealing the design and lettering.

Heres the progress:

Im seeing some real improvement, uncovered more bust after that picture was taken.

Theres a slight indication of some silvering surviving, is this possible? If so, would citric acid cause damage to this?

Theres an area where I wore away some of the red encrustment and this came out shiny after the last dip.
