I ordered some coins on ebay earlier this week, and I got 2 of the things I ordered today! One was a group of 4 Pakistani coins. They are in good condition and are exactly what I ordered. The other was a full pound of random world coins, and I'm pleased with what I got!! Some of them were the same coin, but I did receive a 2 franc Vichy France coin from 1943, and a few other WW2 coins to go along with my WW2 coin collection! I also got some older coins, like an 1816 Austrian coin, and some other coins from the late 1800s and early 1900s. I must say I am very pleased, and I'm expecting another shipment of 50 coins either tomorrow or Monday!

It is rare and refreshing to read a post about a good ebay experience.
I wish that more members would do the same.

I have looked at a few lots of coins but I caan't bring myself to do it. Looking carefully at the photo's it looked like they had evenly distributed the older better coins evenly along the top and everything else underneath was junk.

These lots are not so bad if you are just beginning but I think if you have already amassed a collection you are going to get a heap of doubles and only one or two coins you needed, I am happy to hear that this wasn't the case for you :)

The problem is with coins there are so many situations of bad coins, lousy sellers, high postages, lost in mail, wrong coins sent, no returns and on and on with not so good stories. Yes there are many, such as this one, where a purchaser comes out ahead but for the most part, sellers on ebay are out to make a lot of money. Coins are probably one of the biggest items that create those poor stories.
And yes when you consider the possibly millions of transactions per day on ebay, it is sort of nice to hear good ones like this.

I agree there are quite a bit of bad transactions, compared to the total number I still think its a small percent. But youre right we definitely dont read about those very often as most of the stories we get are tales of caution and kind of lose sight of the fact that not every deal goes bad.

I do think that its a fair assessment to say that coins and bills probably do have a slightly higher rate of bad transactions as its one of the easier things to get fooled by or deceive someone with, its also one of the things that individuals sell the most.
