It's in really good condition too. It's not copper though. I looked it up on ebay to see the value and came across a blank planchet WHEAT. What a smart individual to know that this is a WHEAT blank planchet and not just 1959-1982 planchet... lol

I can find a blank cent planchet but no silver half dollars in the last year, how sad is that!

I think the seller is just using that as a selling point.

Keep in mind no one is buying his coin so this is not the correct value. Single planchets typically bring $1 to $2 on ebay. I bought a group of 100 zinc planchets on ebay for $75.
Rest in Peace

Where'd you find your blank? Was it CRH or in change?

BTW - I looked at the ebay listing and I think the seller's wrong. That's not a wheat blank, it's an Indian Head blank. I'm sure he's priced it waaaayy too low!

I'm not sure how one could differentiate a copper planchet or blank
from it being either a wheat, indian or any 59 through 82 copper.
Only one I could clearly see would be a cupro indian or an early small
cent. The 1 to 2 dollar range is the norm. for a copper or zinc. planchet. Blanks bring a slightly higher premium but not much.
Also the grade/color is taken into consideration. I also think that the term "Blank Planchet" is a little confusing and incorrectly used.
You either have a blank or you have a planchet.

The little research I've done says "blank planchet" and even when I google "blank vs planchet" nothing comes up.

Okay I didn't know that difference, I defiantly have a planchet then since it has the raised edge, not a blank. Thanks for the info papatony
