I recently had the chance to pick up another NGC-graded complete set of the 1946 Luxembourg one year coin designs. The full set consists of the 20, 50, and 100 Francs coins. The coins bear the image of Prince Jean on the obverse, and of John the Blind (also known as John of Bohemia) charging into battle on the reverse. They commemorate the 600th anniversary of the death of John the Blind.

You have there the 100 francs version without signature.
This one has a mintage of only 2000.
It's catalogue value is approx. the double of the normal version.

@maudry, yep, I knew that. Strangely, NGC didn't note that it was the "Restrike" version without the signature. I have three of the 100F, and they are all the type without a signature -- not bad for a coin with a mintage of only 2,000.

On the reverse after 1946 you should see the signature of the designer of the coin.
Btw this is one of the very rare Luxembourg coins where the inscription is in Luxembourgish.
On most coins it is in French.

The signature, if present, looks like the one on the 20 and 50 F pieces. :) As for the inscriptions, yes, I find that interesting too - these days the country name is always in Luxembourgish (now spelled "Lëtzebuerg") but the issue-specific information is in French ...

@chrisild, the "signature" of the designer is not the same on the 100F as on the 20 and 50F pieces.

On the 20 and 50F pieces, only the designer's initials are present ("A.B." for Armand Bonnetain). On the 100F coin, the designers full last name is present (BONNETAIN). The location of the designer's information is found on the lower right of the horse side of the coin -- between the "6" of 1946 and the final "N" of Blannen.
