Other than the standard coin shop and online auction site where should I look for Common Morgans? I went to the pawn shop the other day and they ha one in the case when I asked how much the guy took it into the back room for a minute and came back and said it is not for sale it was a gift to the owner. Why put in the sales case then? After some chatting turns out the guy is a hard core stacker, or so he says. Been saving all the silver that comes in for 20 years. We talked for a bit and he did have one Morgan he would sell me. 1883O in pretty good shape for $31. It was in a holder like a GSA holder stating it was Brilliant Uncirculated. It does look nice but not that nice. Anyway.... What are some other good places you guy have found Morgans and or Peace dollars that are not the usual places one would expect to find them? Thanks in advance for any help.

I have bought from Private collectors, Junk shops, Flea markets, and Pawn shops.
All depends on what is in your area. I know collectors that have made some great buys on Graigs list
and even from ads in the local paper.
Easstate auctions are sometimes good places to buy coins. I have picked up quite a few at auction for melt or a buck or so over melt.

If you're just interested in common Morgans without regard for date or variety, station yourself on ebay for an hour or two and watch ending auctions. I guarantee you'll find one or two every day that you can snipe at the auction's end.

I live in an area with a lot of small family shops. they are great for getting common morgans. Anyplace that deals with buying and selling may have junk silver. I even got some from a guy who deals in sports items. he said people come to him all of the time telling different things. Silver bars, rounds, morgans. look everywhere you go. it never hurts to ask.
