Went home this weekend to take care of some family business.

Once in a while lately my parents will have found a coin or small stash of coins to either show me, or pass along to me. Most of them time they are just cool coins because they held on to them (Ikes and such).

This weekend my mom showed me this one:

1st-Morgan-Dollar

(Sorry for the pic quality, I'm out of practice).

Her grandmother (my great-grandmother) gave it to her as a kid.

So she gave it to me for safe keeping, which marks the first Morgan dollar for my collection!

Just thought I'd share.

That's how it started for me, one Peace dollar handed to me from my grandmother. That makes a coin special and worth well more than the monetary value. Good luck with your next acquisition and every one after.

All it takes is one to get the addiction started....

That's how I started on my Liberty nickel collection, I won an 1886 in VG at my coin club. Next thing you know I'm cruising ebay looking for others, now all I need is the 85 and I'll have a complete set.

1921-P was my first Morgan as well...don't know what happened to it.

24 years in the Air Force = 8 change of stations...it could be anywhere.

Both my older brother and I been collecting coins since we were a kid. A few years ago, I saw that my brother has one Morgan dollar... I have none.

As of today, I have over 350 of them... and he has one, still.

Moral of the story...
.
.
.
I spent too much.

Btw, definitely keep that 1st one, the memory will last forever.

Collecting Morgans is a marvelous obsession! Enjoy! Oh and with all the varieties available, you could probably build a great collection of just 1921 Morgans.
