Congrats JW  Thanks to all who took part, although not to everyones taste these events are keeping the board regular and maintaining the ancients section rise in traffic. I remember when it was days between a post and apart from SAP and echizento we didn't have any regular posters at all! |

I'm having difficulty thinking up a topic for the next smackdown. I'm leaning towards, "land animals minus horses", "snakes", "architecture", "the Flavians", or "Nerva-Antonine". Any other ideas or is there a preference towards any of these ideas?

Have you done coins with a specific god on them?
It would be interesting to see the differences in how they potrayed the god over the years...

Architecture is cool idea. I'm not crazy about dynastys but a "coins of the blank century" would be cool. You choose whatever you like.

I like the land animals idea - I could enter that one! But be careful - make sure you rule out horses AND humans/gods.

gongrats is what they say in "the hood" Land mammals would be good (minus horses and pegasus, and ?) Snakes would be pretty good, if I had any sankes, but I don't ... other than the stick-figures eating whatever from whoever's hand (weak) ... Eagles would probably be very/pretty good ... Generic God (Roma, Athena, Zeus, Jupiter, etc) ... pretty good if you guessed a fairly common God ... Specific Time Period => example 250-275 AD ... not a bad idea Specific Rule => example, Elagabalus ... not a bad idea ............... good enough suggestions? |
