I have been working on this uncleaned lot for quite sometime. The first picture is from June of this year when I was able to clean off enough dirt to reveal details in attempt to ID this coin. Any suggestions on further cleaning measures or should I stop? They have soaked in olive oil for quite sometime and today I picked at it with good results. Suggestions on exact ID would be awesome. The reverse appears to be a Reclining River god or Nymph from Thrace, possible autonomous coinage of Odessos? Maybe c. BC. 270-250, maybe a smaller version of Sear GCV1680 ?

The portrait may have looked like this one once, which was listed on a Thrace, Mesambria Ae coin with a different reverse. It makes me a little sad when I see "unknown female" in the description since if they were important enough to go on a coin it would be nice to know who they were.

I had to switch to a darker monitor for awhile due to the other monitor bugging my eyes. So, I can't really see the details too much in those photos.

oh cool, that looks good AN. some of the brownish gray stuff (like on the bottom of the river guy) may still come off. it's nice whatever you decide to do!

I continued to work on this coin last night and I noticed that the "Patina" the green portion is rather soft, almost clay like, I gently scraped away at the hair and I noticed under magnification a shiny Brass surface underneath. Suggestions anyone ?

Bad news AncientNoob - it could be Bronze disease. I dont know whether VerdiCare could help or not, but I dont think its advisable to proceed.
