I prefer to flip whenever I think I get a better deal, of course, then there are a few that I only want in possession. Ones that have sentimental value.

My dad was not one to buy coins.
"But dad, you have the 16-d and 21. Why not buy the 21-d?"
(Mercury Dimes, never happened.)
"But dad, ALL you need is the 38-d!"
(Walking Liberty - I did buy one.)
The dimes are gone.
So are Walkers - EXCEPT for the 21, 21-d, 21-s and 38-d.
My Walker collection consists of only four coins:
the ones which hold the most emotional value to me.
And the ones which are highly and easily salable.

Nice investment Barry. I don't stack collectible bullion, so I can't comment on the subject matter.

If your gonna keep til you pass and then pass to your son the current market value is irrelevant....

Just know it is one amazing set most could never afford and its value as we all know is gonna be WAY higher if the day ever comes that some of your children, or perhaps even their children cash in on it....

Eventually gold should be so high at some point, it will be a must move time to sell. Or one may never get that max peak value wherever that may lie one day. Maybe 10k plus well after were all dust in the wind. Even if finding a buyer willing to fork out 10k for a box collection set of now old gold eagles will not be an easy task, when gold may be 5 grand per oz. And no guarantees gold will ever see those prices even though I think it is real feasible....
