When I started collecting a few months back silver was hovering around $26-$27 an ounce. I did a lot of ebay research to see what everything was selling for, and got very good with average prices.

Now that silver is $33+ an ounce, those premiums people were paying on; Morgans, Peaces`, Britannias, Pamp bars etc, that $5 to $7 jump since hasn't really increased these premiums. (Online) that is.

I've always seen random date Morgans sell for $29-$35 even when silver was at $27.

Now it's $33, I watched several Morgans today sell for $28-$29.

Is this normal? When to a point will premiums just vanish?

That's how I see it at least. I try to stay away from high premium coins and bars. (Like the 1 oz Pamp I ordered last week)

What do you think?

If you can stay away from PM lots that are less than one ounce, where the premiums are higher. OK to buy 90% in bulk, but the premium has to reflect the fact that it is a bulk lot that you are buying.

Itll be normal the first couple days especially on ebay since sellers cant revise prices on things with a bid or for the last 12 hours. If it stays there in a day or two new listings should reflect the price change. But also remember that morgans and Peace dollars dont have a full ounce of silver in them either for the common date bullion ones

I understand the Silver Dollars aren't 1 full oz. I was just referring to what they were selling for before, compared to now. I'll just have to watch the prices online for the next week or so and see what kind of changes there will be.

Youd think theyd go up with the change, but the 90% coins seem to be the slowest to reflect changes. Sometimes with ebay too it can be a little misleading as things will go for different prices on different nights. I've noticed things ending on friday nights have the lowest prices and saturday is pretty bad too, too many people out late.

You won't be finding undamaged Morgans on ebay for that price much longer.

Silver looks to be headed for $35 next week and common, circulated Morgans will be pushing well past $30 if it does.
