I was roll hunting and ended up with nearly a whole box of 2012 d pennies. I thought there may be some interest in them but a craigslist ad I posted didnt yield any results. Should I just release them into the wild at this point? Would I be able to move the pennies if I rolled them?

Go through a couple of rolls, pick out the best of the best and dump the rest.
You could also offer a couple of the best one's here for anyone who still needs one.

I could use one. I found one in circulation, but a rolling machine had scratched it up.

What did you try and sell them for on craigslist? I'd just return them personally.

Take to a bank and deposit them if you have an account. Not much interest but more than you'ld get selling them.

I would be interested in getting some rolls.... Priority Flat rate small box is the best price for shipping.
Btw, your email receiving option is not on. Please PM me. Thanks.

I traded half a box of p's with a member on here for half a box of d's, we are gonna do it again next year, and each year untill they stop minting the penny. I have a large collection of wheats and canvas bags full of copper, so I dont mind sitting on the 25$ for now to go with my collection. If you dont have interest dump them off.

Thanks all. SA4H, I'd send you some but I dont have any rolls. They are all loose. I guess I'll just keep a couple really good ones and dump the rest.

Quote: halfhunter, how did you run into boxes of BU cent? What I have is the bags straight from the fed that brinks/garda rolled and sent to the bank, business strikes. Pretty easy to get this time of year, just hit several banks and tell them your looking for a box of 2012's can you see if you have one. It will be the same coins your bag is, just shotgun rolled. I have 4 rolls of different years from the 70's I ran across, when I bought my father in laws penny hoard. Pretty neat they are shotgun rolled stamped with a bank from one of the dakota states.

Quote: save it, zinc will be worth something someday. Good point. And that paper they use to wrap too may someday be worth a lot of money.
