I was just wondering if anyone has read the Strike It Rich WIth Pocket Change books. I was thinking about getting one of them for some light reading. I am always wondering if I am buying something with a coin that could be a rarity. Any feedback would be appreciated. Maybe there is an even better book that I do not even know about. I do already have the RedBook and Standard Catalog

Stud722, as John1 and Night Hawk posted, there are many web sites you can go to and find information. This is a great way of learning about coins. I do this but, my brain often gets, "over loaded with computer visualization."
By getting the reference "Books" it lets me stop and compute the picture and adjust my learning.
"Strike it Rich" with pocket change in my opinion is one of the best.
You have two of the best know authorities Ken Potter & Dr. Brian Allen as the authors.
"The Cherrypickers' Bill Fivaz & J.T. Stanton is another outstanding reference.
Hope this helps.

That definitley helped bpoc1. Like you said, even thought I was reading the online sites and what not, I often like to go back to what I have read. that is hard to do with an online article unles you bookmark every singe one you like. I think I will go ahead and order the strike it rich book. Is there a large different between the 2006, 2009, and 2011 editions? I found the 2009 edition for 4.95 with shipping.

The Strike IT RICH with pocket change is an excellent book and you won't go wrong buying it. I have it and highly recommend this book. These are also very good books. Profitable Coin Collecting...David L. Ganz.....From the publisher of Coins Magazine. The official Red Book ..A Guide Book of LINCOLN CENTS.....Q. David Bowers. Looking Through Lincoln Cents....Chronology of a Series...second edition......Charles D. Daughtrey, NLG. Personally I liked these books better and cheaper than the cherry pickers guides.

Ty glad to be of help stud722 and I have the 3rd edition of the book. I can't say what the earlier additions are like but I can say the 3rd edition will carry you up to 2011.
