I am moving into the commemorative portion of my 7070 and saw this one over the weekend. There is something about the obverse that demands attention! What does the CCF think about what PCGS says about this commemorative?

Thanking you in advance!

About a half of an MS grade better than mine. Nice lustre!

Not sure how to grade this series, but it sure looks sweet. It's my second favorite commemorative half and if I lived in Cal it may have been number one.

Excellent choice for your 7070!

Great design and a great coin. Looks MS65 to me but the TPG could have gone 66 on this one. Very nice coin.

My eyes see what appears to be some rub/metal loss on the obverse high points (the areas at the knees and just below them, across the chest), so I would grade as Choice AU. It could just be the image, however, so it wouldn't surprise me to see a grade of MS-64 - the coin does appear to have good luster.

My opinion FWIW ... PCGS MS64 ...

This coin is often found with amazing brilliant surfaces that truly glow ... and not uncommon at all in higher grades with those glowing surfaces ...

If you own this one ... good for you and enjoy.

If not ... know that this is an example that can be found IMHO with some patience with tremendous visual appeal.

Lovely coin either way.

You are right nickelsearcher, there are numerous excellent examples for this coin, even better than this one (IMO) in the same grade. This could be easier/harder than I thought in choosing the "right" one;
