I'm currently waiting for 118258, 118948, 118919, 119096, 118274, 117583, 117753, 118104, 118926, 117486, 116619, 117945 and 118258... and a few more, I think.

So I've decided to give the RCM a break, and not order anything until all the backlog is taken care of.

Dear RCM rep,

Please ask your marketing department to stop advertising coins that don't exist yet.

Please ask your production department to put a bit more emphasis on the commemorative coins for the little people instead of churning out yet another privy marked bullion coin for the bullion dealers.

Please ask your design department to work closer with your technicians and mint masters to makes sure the designs are feasible first. Better yet, test the feasibility of the design out first before marketing and accepting orders.

Please create a position if there aren't one yet for managing inventory and production. And tell that person we really do love RCM coins. So please expect that coins under $100 with mintages under 10,000 will very likely sell out. i.e. Don't mint only 20 in your first batch.

Please ask your boss to take you all out for dinner at least once this year. It doesn't seem like RCM employees from different departments ever talk and plan with each other.

Lastly, please ask your bosses to listen to what your end consumers are thinking, instead of shaking hands and striking deals with really slimy people that talk up grandma bait on the shopping channel. (And don't let him/them talk you into selling over-priced subscriptions to cheap second hand junk. It's getting a bit embarrassing)

Yours truly,

Suckers that are smartening up

ditto on Lithanial. They need to set their priorities straight. I will not be buying anything until my back ordered items come in. Even then, I'm only buying enough to keep my masters club status, then I order through Canada Post.

Placed an order for the Evening grosbeak the day it was announced to MC members. Been waiting for it to ship since, even though the website said "ships 09/04/2012". I know from previous experiences that it would take a while but...

Went to the post office yesterday and there was the coin I wanted, in stock. Same price. Guess what I did?

When I canceled the coin from the Mint, the person I spoke to wanted to know why I was canceling. Told her the truth. Stock at the post office. Why should I wait for weeks/months on end when the post office has stock at the same price?

I know that purchases at the post office don't towards your MC status but I think I will make an exception for a $ 30 coin.

As posted in the other forum, I will never again purchase anything from the RCM.
Their customer service is a joke.

I'm hoping that they are starting to get caught up. An acquaintance of mine who works at the Mint said things are starting to slow down and get back to normal.

I have received all but 3 of the coins canadian_coins listed and have gotten 3 ship notifications this week alone. I also received a package for which I did not get notification. The coins are literally flood in this week; gonna be a tough month on the credit card.

Puzzling though, today I received a ship update e-mail for an order that was fully filled weeks ago .

Anyway, I'm hoping that everyone will get their orders soon and that the RCM has learned a lesson (ya right). IF they deliver the Dino and RB Grosbeak soon, then I'll have more faith, but until then, I won't be ordering much either.

They have caught mine up almost completely. I received ship orders last week for the two loons and silver loonie. All they are back logged on is the test token and crystal flower. And I ordered most of the coins. I did not order anything in this last release even though I wanted a couple items. The wait wasn't appreciated and very disappointing but I love the coins and that won't stop me from buying in the future

I have had to cancel several thousand dollars in orders this year due to the backlog. I don't need lucky loonies after the Olympics and what am I going to do with a Calgary stampede coin now. I don't plan on doing much more business with these people any more. I've been overcharged for coins, had returned coins stolen, received countless defective items and I don't even want to get into their moronic email system. I think the backlog is just a small part of all the problems at the mint. I don't think any of us would shop at any retailer who said we had to wait 9 months for our product.

Sane here.
After a long waiting time for coins to delivery. I do not shop with them anymore.

I don't even care about the MC status. Cause I am not a hoarder, I collect for myself, not to hoard and flip like someone did.

I find out 2 reliable sources that I can get the new coins quick at cost or with a very little premium.
They are POs and my local dealer.

I got my first Two Loons at the dealer just 2 days after the Mint released day.

Unfortunately, I do not have appropriate PO in my area. I live in Arizona. Guess I should pick up on US coins now.

So I called Customer Service to ask about the status on all my outstanding orders. I was quickly tossed over to my Mint Rep. Wait a second...

Again, this is completely UNFAIR because our reps do not make any commission on web orders! And forgive me, but some of these orders were done on the web. why? Because my rep is too slow to respond, and I'm afraid to miss the window.

The whole situation just sucks.

Just wait until X-Mas time when they're backed up even more. You gotta love a Santa coin that arrives in mid-March.

Poboxw,

Thank you for stating so eloquently what so many of us are thinking. If I lived in Ottawa I would print this out and tack it to the front door of the Mint.

@candian_coins:

Call RCM and tell them your mint rep is away from his post and you need to get this sorted out. That's what I do and it gets the job done without having to bother my mint rep for stuff that should be his responsibility.
Rest in Peace

We should all copy poboxw's letter and send it to each of our respective reps.
