I am a light roll-searcher ($10 per week on average), and pulled one of these (dated 2006) a couple years back. It's pretty nice.

Yesterday I saved a second one from the impending melt. It's not damaged or anything, but it's brown and not particularly attractive. Still, it's a fruit-worthy find.

Based on recent news of an example from 2005, I ran my magnet along 2004, 2005, and 2006 with nothing below the portrait. I've had no luck with 2004 or 2005 yet.

And there's no reason to expect the error is limited to just these dates. If I were more systematic, I'd have checked 2002 and 2003 too.

Tom Rogers once told me that not only the pennies have errors and wrong planchets, but the other denominations do as well.
Rest in peace Tom,you are surely missed.

Are there any examples, other than one-off errors?
