Hi! I am keen to get my hands on bundles 50 or 100 of $1 and $2 bills but the problem here is that I do not reside in the US ... more like on the other side of the globe.

Now I have checked out ebay and the best deal I have seen is a bundle of 100 $1 bill is selling at $129.90.

Is there a way I can get these at face value (or close to it) and have them shipped overseas? I checked out BEP site as well, they sell uncut sheets but not bundles, plus BEP only ships to a US address.

Thanks for your help! :-)

I think you are referring to a strap which is 100 notes. A bundle is 10 straps.

You are going to have to make a contact in the US that can get them for you and even if you do I don't know if there will be any problems with customs or not.

Nickelman is correct. Do you know if customs would allow someone to send you a couple hundred in US currency. Would you have to pay a tax on the money. Also the cost of shipping them and the insurance (if the Post office will let you insure cash) will eventually increase the cost significantly.

I have brought in bank notes through the local customs [brought in some NZ dollars] before and it is not taxable. I'm from Malaysia by the way.

Nickelman - thanks for pointing it out, yes I am looking for straps of $1 and $2 bills.

WVUcoins - I have shipped bank notes via registered airmail from the US @ $13.50 to $15 before.

Thanks!

*EDIT*

Just deleted a huge long post detailing what I thought was current situation with exporting American currency but then I thought. Its been 4 years since I checked maybe its changed.

4 years ago I found a document on the USPS website listing all the stuff you cant export through USPS and it definitely included US currency among other things.

Now I cant find the document and every link that I think would link to that document ends in an error page or a main page redirect. Even ones on the federal sites.

So I wonder if maybe they changed this in four years and the websites havent caught up yet.

I guess just buyer beware.
