The best looking gold bullion coin without any shadow of a doubt is the St Gaudens $20 Double Eagle.

I would regard this as a bullion coin, because although many millions were minted, I doubt if any more than a few of them ever circulated.

For some reason I am just not a fan of the American Buffalo, it just looks to rough or crude to me.

American Buffalo, American Gold Eagle, anything American. I love the 20$ Gold Double Eagle 1907-1933, if you consider that a gold bullion coin haha, although it comes with a slight premium.

They should have circulated pretty well in the 25+ years of their existence prior to being recalled by the US government in 1933.

I do like the St. Gaudens double eagle coins and also the American Gold Eagle coins the best. The Mexican gold 50 peso coins are also very nice.
