Can anyone give me an idea of value of three 1996 series $20 bills, all with solvent smears on the back, from the same run. Serial numbers are 810, 813, and 814. One smear is about 35%-40%. All in CU condition. Stored the same day received from the bank - 1999. Edited by pdqfast 09/13/2012 7:12 pm

A higher resolution image would be a big help.

I can't seem to get a sharper image without crossing the size limit threshold. I play with the camera some more later, when I get back. *** ebay reference removed by the Staff ***

Scanners work alot better on paper currency, IMO. Although I do remember someone stating that the more modern scanners won't scan the currency.

No scanner here, but I should learn how to use my camera anyway. Thanks.

pdqfast, welcome to CCF.
Due to all the fakes out in the REAL world these notes NEED to be graded for YOU to realize a decent price.

Thanks to all of you for the information. It sure has been helpful. If they are graded as authentic at a high level of quality, as I expect they would, what would be a reasonable expectation for value? The other question I would have is, how much consideration is given to the fact that all come from the same run or sheet. I'm just trying to determine if it warrants the effort.

The value in this set is from the notes being in sequence. FWIW, they are NOT from the same sheet....Check the back plate numbers (they are all different)...this being said
As a set authenticated (this is key) ...may be $450 and higher. Here too it's going to be dependent on the grades of the notes.
To circle back...the value in here is that they are IN sequence as a set.
Hope this is helpful...best wishes.

Thank you very much. I guess thats worth the $15 per bill or so that I heard it costs for grading. Any suggestions for this service?
On a side note, I can't help but to share this, I was going through a change jar last night and came across an Arkansas Quarter that had on the back of it "Birthplace of Clinton" with an unusual picture. I'm sure all of you have seen it but it was my first time. I had to show it to my wife to make sure she was seeing what I was. Yeah, it got me.
