This site is not exactly Firefox friendly. It's very minor stuff, but I thought you might want to know about it. I have to resize the text every time I log in (using [ctrl] [minus] [minus]), and the same applies to the mail/messaging system. With the website, the original log-on has text, etc., overlapping each other until I hit the [minus] twice. With the mail window, it won't show things like the [send] button until I resize that to make the text smaller. At my age, small text really gets troublesome sometimes. Any attention you could give this, at your convenience of course, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks !!!

Hmmm.... I gotta wonder if it's a setting in your browser. I use Firefox every other day so that I can see if issues pop up. I do not have any problems at all, the text is the same size as IE7 all the time without having to adjust anything. I know Dave uses FF, maybe he can shed some light on it.

I use FF and never have any problem. That includes much lurking and some posting.

AF, I use Firefox almost exclusively with none of the situations you describe. Go to your FF Preferences (might be "Options" or "Settings" if it's FF for Windows; I use a Mac), click on "Content" then click onto a larger font size. Also, ensure cookies are enabled and under Security, click on "Remember passwords for this site". See if any of this makes a difference then get back to us. This should be a solvable problem.
Also, which version of Firefox are you using?

I also use Firefox.
Don't have any problems about the text size. However, when I right-click on the links to "open in a new tab" the first right click just makes the whole page shift one or two characters to the left. the second right click brings the cursor menu as normal. Nothing significantly important actually:)
AuldFartte I suggest you update to the latest version and see if this helps: check the Tools > Options menu Third tab from the left (should be "Content")and go to the "advanced" box for fonts and colours, get the box that says "allow webpages to use their own style other than my preferences" (or the one with equivalent meaning:)checked. I have mine in Turkish so I'm not sure of the exact English terms used there.
Hope that helps

Hmmmm.... My first right-click shifts the page down a couple characters because FF is sliding down to show the tabs. The second one on is fine because the tab view is already there. IE doesn't do that because even if there is only one tab, it shows one tab. FF doesn't show any tabs if there is only one, hence the shift upon opening a new one.

Nope that's not what I have. mine go to the left and at the first right click, when the small menu is supposed to pop up next to the cursor. As if the FF is trying to avoid me open that link :)
Doesn't happen every time, but I couldn't catch a pattern yet.

I've been using the newest version for a while now, but it did the same things with the old version. I tried a larger font size as suggested and it made the problem MUCH worse, so I thought I'd try the reverse. Making the fonts smaller on my FF settings cured the problems (the mail one included!), but now the fonts come up too small for a handful of other sites I frequent. Also did the "save passwords" thing, but it made absolutely no difference. I guess I'll figure this stuff out someday. I'm not exactly a computer geek, but I'm not computer illiterate either

AF, happy it's working a little better for you, but it's gonna take some better techie than me (a second grade kid could do it better than me) to figure it all out, especially on a Windows system. What size font does FF say you're using for the default font? Mine is set for 14 (Times font) and the text looks small compared to other websites, but is readable for me although normally, a size 14 font would be fairly large. I also have some vision problems, so had to make adjustments to suit my own old eyes and a few compromises needed to be made (I have special glasses for computer use only) including changing the font sizes back and forth until I was comfortable with 14 although some websites have huge text.
I also tried it with Safari (a Mac browser) and Internet Explorer, both with no difference from Firefox except IE took a very long time to download.
One other consideration: what size monitor are you using? I used to have the same problem with an earlier laptop with only a 10" screen, am now on a 14" screen (resolution set for 1024x768) and it makes a difference. With a lower resolution for my laptop, the page won't fit and I'd have to scroll back and forth but with the higher resolution, it fits OK.

Fred, I have a laptop with the 17" widescreen. The fonts are set now for 20 (VERY comfortable for me) and it seems to now work well for this site. Since Coin Community is more important to me than some of the other places I visit, I can readily tolerate the difficulties encountered on those sites with font sizes, etc. Thanks so much for the advice, folks. Much appreciated as always
