These are interesting and different from what I generally see in this section - but what differentiates these pieces from, say, tokens? Since they're holed, are they worn as adornment? Baubles? Jewelry? Do the characters on them impart good luck to the wearer? Owner? Viewer from far away lands?

I don't think these were used as tokens in the way token substitute for currency in Western society, more like good luck charms and gifts.

A bit more research leads me to believe many of these may be Korean - any other info greatly welcomed!

I can't help with all of the charms, but the last one looks like a legitimate Korean coin to me. At least, it started out right and then all of the notches in the rim might be 'post mint damage' or graffiti. . .

There are similar coins pictured on the Primal Trek site (without the damage).
