So I accidentally bought a 1926D Peace dollar graded ms65 in an old PCGS rattler. Long story but I decided to keep it as the coin has no visible bag marks and definitely looks high end for grade. The only detractor is some dark toning on the reverse and edges of the obverse. I've been thinking of sending it to NCS to remove toning and reslabbing in NGC with the hope of an upgrade. Unfortunately I don't have a picture, it went straight to the bank vault. Just wondering if anyone has any experience doing this, particularly for Peace dollars.

I sent coins to NCS regularly mostly cooper Greek coins to remove green disease.Last month I sent a 5 mark coin from Baden anniversary commemorative coin for king wedding. It had a grey ugly for me toning and the coin was in an MS-64 NGC slab.NCS make a great job and removed the unwanted patina and revealed a fully lustrous coin and upgrade at MS-66.

of course I have bad times also with NCS.Once I sent a ms68 panda in and return as is, because of possible undergrading if unslabbing.

That's a great result on the Baden! I think I'm definitely going to give this a shot. I'll upload pictures when I do.
