It's always fun going through new (old) ones, so I'm planning on buying some more. I searched on Google for a good website, and found a couple.

wheat-cents.com for 5 lb, approx 750 coins, including shipping ($7.87) it costs 10.4 cents per penny. On pennies.com, for 500 pennies (10 rolls), with shipping included (6.69), it costs about 13.34 cents per penny...I'd say that's a nice size difference. Did not find any reviews, however, so not sure about that.

I may buy 5 lbs from wheat-cents.com - but a question, if wheat pennies were all put into a bag, couldn't it bring down the value of some pennies, since they would be rubbing on each other, rather than in rolls, where they could be kept in decent condition? Or, since they either bought bags or rolls of them, would you think that the pennies would already be scratched up by the time the company put them again into rolls/bags and sent them off?

Thanks

IMHO, that price seems a bit high. I may be wrong since I've never bought them in bulk but from what I've read on here you should be able to find them cheaper.

Keep looking and you may find them for around 5 cents each. It will be hard to find good deals online, but they may yet exist. I still want to kick myself in the butt every time I think about how I passed up on $50 face bags of wheat's at a show last year for $225 per bag. The dealer told me I could the 4 bags he had for $800. They would have been loads of fun searching them, and could could have made a few bucks off the leftovers.

I wouldn't worry about damage. Maybe if they were AU coins. If there is one in the bag I'd be surprised.
