I would hesitate to offer less that 85 percent of the stated price.
Ninety per cent is better.
These folks are LONG established in the Coin World and can be trusted.
Sometimes, they offer the same coin on ebay as they do on their site, so you may want to check that out.
The piece looks just dandy. An "O" mint from before the War Between the States is cool.
Nice eye appeal.
They might counter-offer, but do not expect too much of a discount.
A wild guess, $1,750. Consider that.

PS...I did put in an offer of $1,550.00 before I wrote this post...I might have to bring it up.

Not too awful bad. They're scarcer than hen's teeth in Mint State.

I'm too late to chime in on this particular thread...but, in my experience with the DLRC website, when you make an offer, start low, it won't accept any offer lower than their lowest price they will accept. Then you can creep up your price until it accepts it, provided you want to go that high.

I think you did well for the price, NGC website value (also Numismedia FMV) is $2160.

went to $1,650..they no. I went with the offer of $1,675.
I think I did good with the price since NGC value is $2160.
