My friend and I have been trying to identify this coin. It was given to him when he was younger. We assumed the face was Caesar...? Help identify this coin pleeease!

It is trying to be an ancient Greek coin but the style is modern I am afraid and I must inform you that it is a modern fake.

I concur. Its a modern peice - but a very nice one. It could still be silver, but the odds arent great.

Try and ID what its trying to copy - its not a Julius Caesar, I'm afraid.

I think I read BASILEOS ANTIOXOY. I believe that it is trying to imitate a Gold Stater of Diodotos of Baktria.

There are silver tetradrachms of the same ruler (Diodotos I of Bactria) with the same design; Wildwinds example. But the pics aren't really good enough for me to comment on authenticity.
