I hate to break the ice and be the first as my grading experiance is limited...how does AU 55 sound? Also I'm seeing a decent quality cleaning?

I'm not sure on the cleaning. I saved it from the melter. As far as AU 55 goes, it does appear to have some wear on the Eagles breast. Kind of hard to tell though. I was thinking an XF because of that. I tend to grade low though.

Just doing what I can to save the ladies. I also saved a quite nice Peace dollar the same day. Too beautiful for that type of end.

I think you might have a low MS like a 61 or 62. At the worst, I think it would grade AU-58. Good job saving this coin!

Really? That's great! I used to grade a coin myself, then find that I graded too high. I'll have to get my Peace dollar on here next. Don't think it will grade as high, but it will be fun to see if it grades what I think it will. Thanks for the replies.

I will say MS-61+ for this coin. Might make MS-62 with a friendly grader due to the nice luster.

if this coin is circulated its very lightly and should be at least an AU-58 but if it saw no circulation wear then I think MS-61-62 would be about what this one should grade. It can be very hard to determine a high grade AU coin from a low grade MS coin by pictures such as these but I am pretty confident that if it circulated it didn't spend much time doing so
