Greetings!! I am hoping somebody can help me identify this coin I have inherited. I have not had it tested to see if its a real or fake, and wanted to see if I could save myself the embarrassing trip if it is =) Any help to determine what it may be would be amazing.
Thank you in advance!

Things that will help;

Weight (as close to the hundredth of a gram as you can)
Size in mm (if you dont have calipers, take a photo next to a well known coin like a US quarter)

Cool piece, I hope it turns out to be real, whatever it is.

Interesting coin. Looks like only the top half of the Spanish escudo made it onto the coin. Has it been clipped? Looks like gold. Could you give the weight and diameter?

Its mounted to an ugly necklace, the coin measures about 20mm, the whole thing weighs 43 grams, but that includes the chain and mount around it so I unfortunately don't have the real weight for just the coin, I don't know if it was clipped or not it is something passed onto me and I have no idea of its origin or who decided to turn it into a piece of jewelry. I've been looking around trying to find out the denomination of escudo but haven't caught anything that really matches.
