Help-With1983-90,-Ghost-Date-Lincoln-Cents-Value?rarity?I have found some 1980's & 1990 lincoln cents with what I believe is called "ghost date" doubling. I am new to coin collecting and am facinated by these variety. Are they rare & what possible value do they have? Thank you

to CCF. They are not rare and have no added value.If I remember right it is a plating issue.

The wheat pennies are notorius for ghost images due to worn dies. The ghost of lincoln sometimes appears on the reverse and ghosts of the wheats on the front. Some of these are very interesting and collectible. Value is not much. Check Alan Herbert's Price Guide to Mint Errors p169.

Thank you! Greatly appriciated I figured it was more likely common in those dates. The mirrored/tracing reflection of the doubling on the date is neat to look at, I found my first cent like this when I was young & was fascinated by it.
