This might be fun , or opening a can of worms

We all like most every classic design, but there must be some members that dislike certain classic coins. I'm wondering who dislikes what.

I'll start with one coin I dislike:

I dislike the Standing Liberty quarter. I find the motif of Lady Liberty Standing at a stoop in front of a half-wall gate/door-way to be a rather bizarre design to put on a coin.

It may or may not be considered a classic but I really don't care much for the Lincoln Cent. Primarily because its obverse design is rather bland and it set a precedent of placing a dead president on our coins. Now the powers that be just can't get away from that.

I am not keen on the Ike obverse.

Actually, I think that overall, the U.S. has been blessed with some really good coin designs.

I have a love hate relationship with barbers. Sometimes I love them, then other times I can't stand lady liberty looking like a guy.

The 3 cent silver coin, ugly design which appears to be foreign. Saying that I have owned a few over the years.

Any Coronet or Classic Head coin I think is ugly. Looks like a chicken head. Where did they come up with that hair style. The Barber coins come in second ugliest. Think the Capped Bust is one of the nicest of all coins. That lady has some class.

Just my opinions

I know this is sacrilege but I never really cared for the Morgan dollar design.

For me it's the Washington quarter and Peace dollar. Both were the victim of crummy die preparation with the low reliefs. The Peace dollar could have been a beautiful coin if not for this.

Dave700x, I'm new to all this, if it's not too much to ask, could you explain further for me how the dies were prepared poorly and how that affected the appearance of the coin.

For my Two Cents, I think that the 2 cent piece is poorly done. Not one bit of romance that I think most other of our coins have.

I find any coin with what I call the "chicken eagle" reverse unappealing. There are many of them....just hate the look of a skinny eagle.

My most hated design on any classic coin has got to be the Peace dollar. It is the ugliest coin in the whole Dansco type set album to me. I have no idea why anyone would draw liberty with her mouth open

Akkk!! nah I understand everyone has a different opinion on what they think is appealing and what isn't. If we didn't everyone would be after the same woman and there would be allot of single ladies plotting against her

I think that the low relief Peace dollar would have to be my least favorite coin... the high relief is pretty nice....
