Any comment on what I am buying as far as Quality? Again, I am a major noobie, and just feeling my way along. I notice that mostly I am drawn to those coins with the contrast patina. Do those make for lesser quality coins being not fully cleaned? I guess there could be detail hidden, or no detail? I am just curious if you guys see any obvious mistake I am making in the coins I am choosing. Again all comments good and bad are appreciated and welcome.

You have done very well with the type of coins and quality. As I said in your other post I've been collecting ancients for over ten years and don't have any of the ones from your fisrt post. These coins would make a nice addition to any collection. You seem to like coins with a desert patina, in which case I would leave them as they are and not clean them. I prefer my coins to show more detail, so I would clean them a bit more. It all depends on what you like. IMO if you continue buying as you have been, you will have and excellent collection.

I have to agree with echizento- I too have been collecting a while and don't have any in which you posted. I have very few coins with desert patina. Coins with character are always preferred. I personally think all of your coins have that character and would be worth of any good collection. If this were baseball, you did not strike out...but hit one out of the park with the bases loaded! Great job for a "noob". Kudos, Desert, Kudos!

My only issue with desert patina coins is that there are fake patinas applied to real and fake coins and telling the difference is not as easy as with other surfaces especially working from ebay grade photos. There are certainly may real desert patinas on real coins and they are often very good looking.
