Hi Guys,
If any of you has a genuine george washington dollar with the smooth edge, can you look at it and compare it to a regular washington and see if you see any difference in color?

The reason I ask this is that I have a smooth rim error coin and it has a slightly different color then the one which is inscribed(the regular one).

Thanks,
Coinmaniac

Can you post a pic? I finally picked up my first two rolls of dollars yesterday and noticed that quite a few had the copper core partially exposed on the edge with fully legible edge lettering. Is this maybe what you are seeing?

Or maybe it is starting to tarnish?

Thanks for the replies, Biochemist, The smooth ones do have some copper toning on the rim as you mentioned, the pictures do not really help.

Thanks,
