Hi guys

Found another dime, this one is a 2011 with another grove down the middle of the edge of the coin, but this one has what looks like a railway edge affect to it...Is this common in this year..?

I see the groove, wert, but I'm not sure what you mean by the "railway edge"? Could you describe it to us?

What I meant pennysaver is that the red arrows show a flat and equal depression on the coin. The yellow arrows shows a ridge that is much higher than the depressions and is all the way around the coin on both sides.

Hmm... I don't think I've seen a rim like that before, or at least I've never noticed one. I'll have to check mine to see if I find anything similar. And the cause -- dies not meeting properly? A new design? There are far more knowledgable CCF members than I am out there who can come up with a solution to this mystery. Thanks for sharing your coin with us, wert!

hi wert

I just went through the change on my nightstand and found 5 2011 dimes -- 4 of which had the line running through the outside reeding and all had that "railwayway effect". I think that they must be more common than we thought. :(
