I have read that some non star notes are worth keeping but the info is all over the place with which ones are desirable.
I read that districts I-H and K are good ones, are they and why? Are there any web sites to check other then mycurrencycollection.com? I know that these are kinda easy to get from the bank in unc or near unc condition so I would like to know which ones to keep and which ones to spend. Thanks in advance for the in-put.

Thanks for the links but those didn't help much. Are there any other links? Thanks all,

You want to look for the small print runs. If the information at uspapermoney.info is not good enough for you then nothing will be.

It has nothing to do with it "not being good enough for me" lettow, It looks like none of the runs are very low runs.

John1 that's a great question!...I've been collecting 2's for some time now....the teller's at my local bank love to see me come in and get them....got a couple red seals, but mostly circulated frn's...However there have been a lot of consecutive #'s near the hollidays...probablly from collections.....i keep all the unc's and most au's....haven't gotten a single frn star!! tells me something there! I go to a lot of coin auctions and havet seen a non star deuce bring a premium in a long time now....the stars bring a little and the red seals always do....i dot know of a real low run of any of the non stars ...maybe 1976 d and j....2003d.....of course 2003a*...is the key..maybe 76 k.c.*...76 minn.*....imho

babysitr, I have one 2003A:B06841356A I also have 49 consecutively numbered from 03:I20136701-750. I was wondering if they would be collectible because they start with 2013 that is next years year (if that makes sense) Thanks all for the help so far.

it's usually birthday year starts that people collect......but, I would keep that consecutive run of notes for sure!....watch for stars.......great reference books available...i like small size paper money....cant think of the author....bought on e-bay....2008 issue...just a couple bucks......so I could use as reference at auctions.....good luck with the two's......watch for '28's

Lettow is correct. It's the 2003A short runs that are harder to find. $2's are also regional, meaning that what you find would be depended on your area. For example Dallas had a lot of notes printed but I do not see that many here in the north east. What I see a lot of are NY, Boston, Philly and SF.

FWIW, on modern / recent series notes unless the notes are chcu / pack fresh they are not worth saving.

John,

IF it fits INTO your collection keep it.

My 2 cents below..........

In Pifty years (deliberate spelling mistake) it will still be worth $2 dollars. But But postage MAY BE around $5 for a first class stamp...

NOW if your GOAL is to profit from a common $2 note I would advise that you do not plan on that water front home for you and your loved ones..... I personally would take that $2 and BUY some thing else. But that's just me.

Have a good evening

Hey Ceylon:

Do you think a 2012 zincoln would be worth more than the duece in 20 years? 'Cause I'm looking at some beachfront property.
