I would love to get my hands on lot 436 but its WAY WAY out of my price range. How would an error like that get out of the mint, no way it was ever in a roll.

Those auctions look like fun, too bad it's mostly out of my price range for now.
SPP I will be sure to stop by.
At these kinds of shows does most of the good stuff go in the first day? I work on friday so hopefully there will be some goodies left on saturday!

How much of a cut does the auction house get ? Is it a standard percentage or can you make your own deal based on the coin you are having auctioned?

After the show on Saturday, I imagine there will be a few of us collectors downstairs in the pub, having a few brews and some show-and-tell with coins... come by and introduce yourself if you are up for a pint or three...

So the buyer pays the fees?
I guess you would want to be good at arithmetic while the bids keep rising or you could end up really over paying for an item.

Packing up tonight, heading down to Montreal tomorrow. The only sad part is that Nuphilex is a fantastic show for hunting and cherry picking, and I am on the wrong side of the table... be sure to drop by to say hello.

Hey SPP I need some tips on where to cherry pick. Any suggestions for who I should be looking at?

Has anyone noticed something strange about this auction (perhaps Shill bidding)? Appr. 90% of the auctions had the same winner (ABSENTS), I can't see how any one buyer would make that kind of purchase? Glenn

Two points:
- One guy on the auction floor, a local coin dealer, bought a ton of lots. I was there and watched it.
- Secondly, ALL mail bids, are entered into icollector in advance of the online auction taking place, and are treated on the online environment as a single bidder.
Learn how these auctions work, before crying foul...

I guess I'm wrong but I still don't think these coins sell in these depressed times and with the add-on of the buyers' fees and taxes.

Visited the show today.
It is interesting to see half the dealers there trying to sell expensive coins (more than $300) at full 100% Trends values in plain 2" x 2" (i.e. no ICCS, CCCS or PCGS grade certification). With all the fakes going around, I would never buy any expensive coins from these guys.
