Hi all been very quiet on the coin front for me. But I did have a solitary raid from across the pond and thanks to the never vigil NGC on British Varieties I kind of hit the jackpot with a very rare and impressive MS64BN Gouby1898B Bronze Penny . With the 11 teeth date spacing with the 8 centred over a tooth but more importantly with the inline bisect lines that form the figure 8. Went totally under the radar so I am chuffed to bits.

Thank you all for your comments on my Jersey, Guernsey, and Alderney tokens.
One thing I left out inadvertently is that these dependencies were granted an exemption from the recall of "specious monies" -- their tokens, that is -- that coincided with the Great Recoinage of 1816, so their tokens circulated until the Crown (or perhaps Parliament) revoked that dispensation in 1834. I'm not sure without cracking a book or two whether that also applied to the Isle of Man, but as a generalization, that explains why the Regency Period tokens from the Channel Islands that show up in VF or better usually require a sizeable chunk of my monthly acquisitions budget!
To illustrate, this 1811 Isle of Man crown-sized silver five-shilling token I recently acquired at auction cost 2-3 budget months, depending on whether I include shipping and FedEx paper-shuffling fees. In the supply-and-demand world where we collect, I'm awfully glad there aren't more folks chasing after the Channel Islands!Isle of Man, 1811 5 Shillings, Dalton 1, gVF, "...of great rarity," per Dalton.
