Hey guys, went to the bank today for a box of pennies while making a deposit and the teller had 10 rolls of nickels from 1959-1968. Guess a guy brought them in and had them sorted per each year. I grabbed them for giggles but I'm curious if there are any collector value in them. I have not dealt with nickels thus far in my collector days so I'm kind of clueless here. I'm assuming not except for possible varieties which I'm not really into. Have no time to start sorting through for them. I know a woman who likes the older nickels because of their purity so I will likely pass them onto her if there is nothing else of interest. Any insight would be appreciated. CHEERS!

Aside from varieties, MS grades or errors, there isn't likely much dollar value above FV. Still, I'd check them at least for 1964 XWL and 1965 Large Beads. If you found either of these varieties you could reinvest in a type of coin that you are more interested in.

I was just doing some research of my own on the topic as well. Also keep my eyes out for 1962 double date. Not many to look through so I will take a peek. I'm trying to find a picture showing the 2 different waterlines right now. And if I'm correct, the A points to the denticle with the large beads variety?

The method I use for differentiating 1965 SB/LB is by the "II" in Elizabeth II. If the gap between the I's points to a space between beads, it's a Small Beads; if instead the gap between I's points to a bead, it's a Large Beads. Good photos showing both varieties here: http://coinsandcanada.com/coins-pri...ts-1953-2012

UPDATE: I gave 6 rolls to the mother in law...full rolls of 1959, 60, 61, 62, 63 and 1964. The other 14 rolls sold on ebay today for $85 shipped. Thanks all for the guidance.
