Picked up this 1986-D Statue of Liberty half dollar in a local auction.

This is a tough one. Not a mark on it but due to improper storage and handling, it has a NASTY fingerprint on the mintmark. It has also developed a nice toning around the perimeter of the coin. Unfortunately there are a few milk spots as well.

Not sure what to do with this one as the fingerprint kills it from being slabbed but I don't collect coins like this, so I don't really want to keep it either.

Is it too late for acetone to work on that fingerprint?

The fingerprint is already toned so acetone would only remove any residual skin oils and the toned print will remain.
