found this in a roll... cant believe you can find these 100 years later! theres a story behind it. after I found it I put on the counter so I would remember to take a picture of it. when I came home from work the next day it was gone. I asked my wife where it was. she said I threw it away! so I got some vinyl gloves on and had was digging in the garbage, I found it covered in nasty stuff with chicken juices and all kinds of good stuff on it, so I washed it up... she says "its just a stupid penny".... women!

I have this thing where I can't (knowingly) throw away money. I won't even throw away a penny. Not because I am a penny pincher etc- just the idea that literally throwing away money will some how have some universal cause and effect. I know, weird right? By retrieving penny you may have re-set the balance so all good. Anyhoo cool find and re-find on your 1910!

That is odd since most women are a lot more money conscience than men. And just threw it away? It is not as rare as you think. Many people are taking jars, boxes, cans of coins saved for a rainy day to the banks. Being out of work makes them do that and some of those coins have been there a long time.

I'm really not sure why people throw pennies away.. If they hate them so much, then use them! A person should be able to go without having more than 4 pennies at any one time. (The same cannot be said about us coin collectors! )

I was waiting for an estate sale to start and a bunch of us decided to look in the dumpster. A lady found one of those change sorting banks filled with coins. There was at least 30 dollars in that bank. It was tossed into the dumpster like an old shoe.

"Covered in nasty stuff and chicken juices" Good job . That is dedication and determination all to retrieve a single penny. In my household it would've been cat litter and ... Ewwe

This is why their are no women around my house. Since women file for divorce most of the time, any chance of the collection getting split up, stolen, sold, or anything for whatever reason, not worth the risk to me. Every single time I go to the bank to dump my sorts I find money in the garbage can next to the machine. America is mastering the art of throwing money away in every way shape or form.

The funny thing is you could put a mint state 1955 double die on the ground and I suspect it would be days before anyone even picked it up ...
