i have had this token for some time. I this same photo of it on a website about tokens and says its from SC. anybody know what it was for and what kinda of value it may have? thank you

South Carolina trade token, in this case from a dairy in Charleston, at 252 Ashley Ave. Just googled the place, and found a Nov 17, 1954 newspaper article on a fire there. Killed a horse.

i did not think to google the address I found another one about f. suhrstedt going into the military and was a school principal

i found your article and it mentions it was originally published in 1904. so I have to assume it is at least that old

Darn! Missed that! Did think it was weird that a milk-horse was still on the job in 1954, though.

hahaha I am the farthest thing from a token person but know most are in the 50 cents dollar range but some go up to hundreds, now I am curious to what it may be worth. I know I could always just put it on ebay but I do not want to sell it.
